Laïta’s whey comes from our cheese production and our caseinates.

At Laïta, we make several types of cheese. These products will determine the quality and characteristics of the whey!

Whey is the liquid obtained during the cheese production process. A network is created between the proteins and forms a cohesive unit that encloses the milk fat globules in this structure. This is how cheese is formed! Serum proteins and small proteins will then be expelled from the cheese along with other elements, a little bit of fat, lactose and water!
This whitish liquid is the whey. Once upon a time, this liquid was fed to pigs. Nowadays, it’s given added value through our whey products!
